loancalc.io is a free set of loan and EMI calculators with plain English guides, built to help ordinary people understand what a loan really costs before they borrow. Every tool works in more than 70 currencies, supports both reducing balance and flat rate methods, and is lender neutral, so the numbers you see are about your decision, not a sales pitch. The site is built and maintained by Hira Fatima.

Why this site exists

Most people find loans confusing. The advertised rate is not the real cost, a flat rate and a reducing rate with the same number cost very different amounts, and the monthly figure alone hides how much interest you really pay. Hira saw this problem again and again, where capable people struggled to compare offers or work out a simple monthly payment, and decided to build a tool that makes it clear.

How loancalc.io was built and tested?

The first version of the calculator focused on getting the math right. Hira then put it in front of real users and asked for honest feedback. One of the most useful early reviews came from her mentor, Ali, who said the tool was genuinely helpful but the interface needed work. Taking that to heart, Hira rebuilt the interface from scratch to make it simpler and faster to use, then went back to people who deal with these calculations in everyday life and tested it again. This time the feedback was clear: it was easy to use and it helped. That cycle of building, listening, and improving is still how the site grows today.

Who is behind loancalc.io?

Hira Fatima is the founder and author. She holds a BSc in Computer Science (BSCS) and builds, tests, and maintains every calculator on the site, as well as writing the guides that go with them. Her background is in building software, and she researched the standard loan and interest formulas carefully so the tools give accurate, consistent results. You can connect with Hira on LinkedIn.

What we cover

The site is organised into three simple areas, each backed by free tools:

  • Loan calculators for car, personal, business, student, and mortgage loans.
  • Interest calculators for flat vs reducing rates, amortization schedules, prepayment savings, and the true APR.
  • Calculators by country with local notes for Pakistan, India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom.

How we work, and what you can trust

  • Accurate by design. Calculations use the standard reducing balance and flat rate formulas, and our guides use the same methods, with real worked examples.
  • Lender neutral. We do not sell loans and we are not paid to recommend any bank or product, so the guidance stays on your side.
  • Plain English. No jargon, no fine print tricks, just clear explanations anyone can follow.
  • Kept current. Where rates or rules can change, we say so and point you to confirm the latest terms with your own bank.

Important note

loancalc.io provides general information and estimates to help you plan. It is not financial advice, and it cannot account for every detail of your situation. Always confirm the exact figures, fees, and terms with a qualified bank, lender, or financial adviser before you make a decision. Please also read our disclaimer for more.

How the site is supported

loancalc.io is free to use. To keep it free and to cover the cost of running and improving the tools, the site may display advertising. Ads never change the results you see, and they do not influence our guidance.
